Quanda Yvette: Uniquely You
This young lady does my heart good. She's loving and kind, beautiful, and passionate about what she does. She loves herself and I absolutely love that about her. Why is that so important to me? You see when she was young, through middle school, she did not carry the confidence that you see today.
LaQuanda Yvette Rubin a.k.a. Quanda Yvette. In her past life I called her Song Bird, because she has always sang; choirs was her thing for many years and she still sings praise and worship today. Quanda was introduced to Barbizon Modeling and Acting School when we lived in Sierra Vista, Arizona. I drove over an hour every week or every other week to take her to Tuscon.
I personally showed her how to apply makeup, but Barbizon helped to develop a level of confidence in her that I knew was there; she just needed the right vehicle to bring it out...and bring it out Barbizon did. When my daughter came home spouting monologues, I was floored. I'd never heard her voice so powerfully except when she sang. I was committed to her completing Barbizon's program because I saw the confidence that oozed from my Angel. As a high school senior, she experienced a week in New York and was awarded a partial scholarship to the New York Film Academy for acting. That scholarship was an amazing opportunity that unfortunately due to other financial constraints she was not able to accept.
What Next:
Quanda has always had this amazing gift of expressing herself through what we know today as self-care. Learning to love and care for herself has translated into a profession of caring for others. She has these amazing Gifted Hands. I like to think that somehow I had something to do with that 😇. I always cared for my girls' hair. When they were young, their hair was at least shoulder length and very healthy; that's because I put the time and effort into caring for it myself. At some point in life, Quanda decided to take the natural hair route and I gladly allowed her to care for her own crown. She
started making changes that I never expected. I loved her looks, her experiments to the point that I learned from her, and in 2010 I started my natural hair journey for the 1st time of many. Today, many women are blessed to benefit from her gifted hands.

Let me point out here that not everyone's journey is the same; that doesn't mean that either journey is wrong or bad. In a house full of athletes, Quanda was unique, different, and many times didn't seem to fit in. But for me, my girl was always special, who God created her to be; it was important to me that she felt my love and support, always. Her unique "feelings on the sleeve" ways of thinking have transformed into the incredible young lady she is today who stands tall and wonderfully proud. She's expressive with her words in ways that help others feel that they too are or can be proud, bold and beautiful.

EXCELLING in the fashion industry was Quanda's destiny in life. She's been educated in specialties that benefit others so well; beauty school for hair, Joe Blasco's Makeup School, esthetician school for skin care, lash training for application of individual lashes. She's owned her own business for 10 years. This young lady specializes in the installation of sewins; making wigs; make up for weddings, pageants, proms; and individual lash installs. I mean I love it when she installs a braidless sewin for me. Listen when Quanda works pageants, her young ladies win or place the majority of the time.
Words from Quanda:
Perseverance is key, no matter what path you decide to take, no matter how many times you fail, fall or hear no. What matters is will you get up or not? I decided to take a different path than my parents dreamed for me and although the path I chose has not been the easiest, I'm grateful for every decision that I've made and every lesson that I've learned.

Quanda Yvette Artistry is her business name and caring for her clients is what she does extremely well. She currently travels to her clients, which is amazingly convenient to the client. Quanda's gift has made room for her to share her expressions of self love and self care with women and men alike. Keep your eyes open, this young lady is about to explode in her industry!!!
